The Hands Off protests are taking place across the United States and in other countries as Americans unite to protest against Donald Trump and his administration. Since January, Trump has implemented controversial changes in the government, such as cutting certain programs and mass layoffs in federal agencies. Furthermore, his administration is carrying out large-scale deportations. So what do the Hands Off demonstrations mean, and what did Trump say in response to them?
Saturday, April 5, is planned as the day of the Hands Off protests.
The Hands Off protests are happening all over the country, with nearly every state hosting demonstrations. According to multiple sources, more than 1200 demonstrations are taking place on April 5.
MoveOn Executive Director Rahna Epting stated that the goal of the protests is to show how many Americans disagree with the new policies. «Hands Off means hands off all of these things, not just our services and benefits, but also our rights and freedoms, all of which are now under threat, and we see it every day», - Epting said.
The demonstrations are also called «anti-Trump» protests because they illustrate widespread opposition to Trump’s policies and actions.
Women’s March Executive Director Rachel O’Leary Carmona also discussed the demonstrations, saying: «I don’t care if I go down in history as the person who stood in a square with three people, 300,000 people, or 3 million people protesting against this, I want to go down in history. I want history to say that people protested against this and fought against it at every turn, even if history includes places where we didn’t win», - reports USA Today.

Meanwhile, the Democrats' position is to provide social security, Medicaid, and Medicare to illegal immigrants, which will bankrupt these programs and destroy American retirees»
