Since Donald Trump took office, the United States government has undergone radical changes. The administration has cut several federal programs, such as diversity, equality, and inclusivity (DEI), and implemented new strict policies, among the most controversial of which are mass deportations. In response to Trump’s presidency, countless Americans are protesting under the slogan «Hands off». To learn more about anti-Trump demonstrations, keep reading.

Protests are happening all over the world. A massive demonstration, which is the largest gathering since the beginning of Trump’s second term, is advocating for the rights of immigrants and members of the LGBT community, as well as against mass layoffs in the Trump administration.

Rachel O’Leary Carmona, Executive Director of the Women’s March, said in an interview with USA Today: «I don’t care if I’m in the square with three people, 300,000, or 3 million protesters, I want it to be recorded. I want history to show that people protested against this and fought against it every step of the way, even if history includes places where we didn’t win».

Rana Epting, Executive Director of MoveOn, explained that the goal of the protests is to demonstrate how many Americans disagree with the new policies. «Hands off» is not just about our services and benefits, but also about our rights and freedoms, all of which are now under threat, and we see it every day," Epting said.

In response to the «Hands off» protests, the White House has ignored them. Press Secretary Caroline Levitt told USA Today that no «protests, lawsuits, or legal actions» will make Trump back down from his promises to make our federal government more efficient and accountable.

According to the Associated Press, the White House added in a separate statement: «President Trump’s position is clear: he will always defend social security, Medicaid, and Medicare for beneficiaries. Meanwhile, the Democrats' position is to provide benefits for social security, Medicaid, and Medicare to illegal immigrants, which will bankrupt these programs and harm American retirees».

«Hands off» protests are taking place in almost every state in America. To find out where the nearest protest is, you can search online for your district or city and find out where the demonstration is taking place.

Some demonstrations have already taken place in London and Paris, and in the USA they are scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 5th. According to several sources, over 1200 «Hands off» protests are happening in different locations.

It is not yet clear if more «Hands off» protests are planned, but activist groups have been actively protesting against Trump’s actions since he took office in January
