Welcome back to the Nevermore Academy, where more sorrow seeps through the walls than in the first season of the Wednesday series. The first part of the second season was released on August 6, 2025, and we finally found out who is chasing Wednesday. So who is it, and why are they pursuing the main character of the Addams family?
Keep reading to find out who is chasing Wednesday and why they are after her. (Warning: the following contains spoilers from the second season of the Wednesday series.)
The main cast of the Wednesday series includes Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzman as Gomez Addams, Isaac Ordonez as Wednesday’s younger brother, Pugsley Addams, Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, Joy Sandei as Bianca Barkley, Hunter Duhon as Tyler Galpin, Musa Mustafa as Eugene Ottinger, Georgie Farmer as Ajax Petropoulos, and Jamie McShane as Sheriff Donovan Galpin.
New additions to the second season include Steve Buscemi as Barry Dorta, Owen Painter as Slarp, Billie Piper as Isadora Capri, Noah B. Taylor as Bruno Youson, and Ivy Templeton as Agnes DeMille.
Several guest stars also appeared in the second season, including Christopher Lloyd as Professor Orloff, Haley Joel Osment as Chet, Heather Matarazzo as Judy, and Tandiwe Newton as Dr. Rachel Fairburn.
Yes! Although the pop star does not appear in the first four episodes of the second season, Lady Gaga will make a cameo as Rosalind Rothwood. It seems that fans will just have to wait for her upcoming appearance.
Agnes DeMille is the one chasing Wednesday, one of the biggest fans of the main character at the Nevermore Academy. Although she clearly admires Wednesday, Agnes' motivation is actually more bitter than even Wednesday could have imagined.
Agnes is so eager to earn Wednesday’s admiration that she strives to be the most sinister person around. Thus, she creates deadly schemes for Wednesday, using her ability to turn invisible. Her cruelest tactic is the kidnapping of Enid in the second episode and nearly killing the cheerful werewolf.
Ultimately, Wednesday does not feel threatened by Agnes. In typical Addams style, the main character uses Agnes to investigate the murder. But their alliance causes pain to an important person in Wednesday’s circle: Enid, who feels excluded from her best friend’s life.
Showrunner Miles Miller explained at Netflix’s Tudum why they decided to create discord between Wednesday and Enid.
«One of the highlights of the second season was the relationship between Agnes, Enid, and Wednesday», - Miller noted. «We felt it was important to test Wednesday and Enid’s relationship. How will Wednesday deal with the idea of friendship? We put Agnes in the middle — she is a superfan of Wednesday and someone who sees herself as a natural best friend for Wednesday».
Templeton, who plays Agnes, emphasized the «triple dynamic» between Enid, Wednesday, and Agnes, adding: «There is also a very important message to be yourself, even if you feel like you don’t always fit in. It’s okay to stand out and be different, which is quite important for my generation».
For now, Enid may die in the second season, according to Wednesday’s vision — and it could be the fault of the psychic!
The second part of the second season of Wednesday will be released on Netflix on September 3, 2025
