Ryan Reynolds calls on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to finally recognize stunt coordinators at the Oscars ceremony. In a lengthy social media post, the 47-year-old star of «Deadpool» and «Wolverine» explained why stunt workers should be honored guests at the annual Oscars ceremony.
«Stunt work does not have its own category at the Oscars, and I hope that will change someday», - Ryan wrote on Wednesday, August 28. «So many films this year have been awe-inspiring. Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, and Chaplin were also stunt performers, as well as directors. They told stories with their whole bodies».
Ryan then praised the stunt team that worked with him and his film partner Hugh Jackman on the filming of «Deadpool» and «Wolverine», - which was released on July 26.
«This stunt team from 'Deadpool' and 'Wolverine' exceeded expectations», - Ryan continued, adding: «Many of them are friends I have worked with for many years, and I will spend the rest of my days writing their names on my Heidi paper, decorating all the 'i's with little hearts. I have worked with Alex Kishkovich since the very first @deadpoolmovie. He not only doubles me — he is the fight coordinator».
In the end of his message, Ryan urged his fans to join him in calling on the Academy to finally recognize stunt workers in the film industry
