After the contestant of the 31st season got engaged to her chosen one, the couple broke up, and the broken heart was visible during the «After the Final Rose» segment of the show, which aired on Tuesday, September 3.

«You have always been consistent, our love has always been here, and I never doubted for a second how much you love me», - Jenn told Devin before proposing to him. «I love you so deeply, Devin, but I can’t let you propose to me. I have chosen myself on this journey, and the best version of me is when I’m with you».
Presenting the engagement ring in a shell, Jenn continued: «I want to fight for you every day. You are everything I ever dreamed of but didn’t know I could have. I want to wake up and choose you every day for the rest of my life».
After Devin accepted Jenn’s proposal, he proposed to her in return, and they embraced, seeming like it was the perfect ending.
During the «After the Final Rose» segment with host Jesse Palmer, Jenn appeared on stage to tell the audience the news — she and Devin had broken up. She then claimed that he had decided to break up with her over the phone in 15 minutes.
«He basically said he no longer loves me and doesn’t feel the same way», - she said, adding that her now ex-fiancé «denied ever being in love with her».
Devin admitted that he «did make a lot of promises, and at the time, fully believed them». He then added that the person on screen «loved» Jenn, but now realizes that he «couldn't keep the promises he made to her».
Emotional Jenn talked to Devin about the devastating breakup, telling him: «What I can’t understand is everything you did after you broke off our engagement. It’s not only so disrespectful to what we shared together, I just don’t understand why you would do something like that. It completely nullified our entire relationship».
Saying that she «wanted to spend the rest of her life with him», - Jenn told Devin: «I wanted to have a family with you, and you didn’t feel those things. … You kept one foot out the door the whole time».
Marcus Schoberg ultimately wasn’t Jenn’s final choice, and he explained what happened between them during the finale.
