Red, White & Royal Blue transitioned from book to screen in 2023. The long-awaited adaptation of Casey McQuiston’s bestseller premiered on Prime Video in August. Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine played the roles of Alex Claremont-Diaz, the First Son of the United States, and Prince Henry of England. The film tells the beautiful love story of Alex and Henry.

Yes! In October 2022, Casey McQuiston published a new chapter that was part of a collector’s edition of Red, White & Royal Blue. The epilogue, told through Henry’s perspective, begins seven years after the events of Red, White & Royal Blue.
Throughout the chapter, readers learn what Alex and Henry have been up to. Alex and Henry are engaged and planning to get married. They live in a brownstone in Brooklyn, which Henry bought after renouncing his role in the royal family.
Alex begins to question whether he truly wants to be a successful lawyer for his entire career. Eventually, Alex and Henry decide they want a simple life together away from the spotlight. They decide to move to Austin, Alex’s hometown, by the end of the chapter.
Casey has clearly been thinking about the next chapter of Alex and Henry’s love story for several years. «Anything is possible», - the author told Hello! about the sequel to her book in 2019. «I will say that I have a lot of ideas for stories set in this world, and I would love to have the opportunity to explore one of them someday. I would be surprised if you’ve seen the last of Alex and Henry».
When asked about a film sequel, director Matthew Lopez told TVGuide.com: «Let's release this film first. Then I need to talk to Casey, and both Taylor and Nick must be interested. But if we’re lucky enough that people want to see more, we’d be fools not to at least talk about it».
The final scene of the Red, White & Royal Blue film mirrors what happens in the book. The last minutes of the film take place on election day. Henry is by Alex’s side as the entire Claremont Presidential team awaits the election results. It all comes down to Texas, and Alex’s mom manages to flip Texas and win the election. Henry proudly joins Alex on stage for President Claremont’s victory speech, their love fully exposed to the world.
After the end of the crazy election night, Alex and Henry head to Alex’s childhood home in Austin. Alex shows Henry the house where he grew up, using the key that Henry wears around his neck.
