Randy Moss is a family man. The former NFL wide receiver is a father of several children and is married. After ending his professional football career and transitioning to a role as an ESPN analyst, Randy had the support of his wife and children. However, in December 2024, a co-host of the Sunday NFL Countdown program revealed that he and his family were dealing with an unspecified health issue. As a result, Randy took a break from the weekly show.

Learn more about Randy’s family below.

Randy married his wife Lydia Moss in 2015, according to multiple sources. Lydia keeps a lower profile than her husband, as she is rarely seen at public events. However, it is evident that they prioritize their family above all else.

Randy is a father of eight children in total, according to PEOPLE. The retired athlete has a daughter named Lourdes-Randy with Lydia.

ESPN personality shares five of his children with his former girlfriend Elizabeth «Libby» Offutt: daughters Sydney, Senali, and Sailey, and sons Thaddeus and Montigo.

It was also reported that Randy has two daughters named Lyric and Lexi.

Randy’s children were one of the reasons he ended his professional football career, as he emphasized in his speech at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2018.

«I love this game so much, but I had to walk away. My kids — I had to take my kids», - Randy said at the time. «Now I understand that you [kids] had to sacrifice too because uncle and dad weren’t always there, and I apologize for that. But I’m here now».

In December 2024, Randy revealed on an episode of Sunday NFL Countdown that he and his family are «dealing with something internal», - but did not disclose the health issue.

«I just want to share something with you. I posted on Instagram, maybe a few minutes ago, telling people, talking about my eyes last week», - Randy began. «And I just want viewers to know that me and my wife — me and my family — we’re dealing with something internal. You know, I have great doctors around me».

A week later, ESPN announced that Randy had stepped away from his analyst position for an indefinite period to focus on a «personal health challenge».

«Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss will step away from Sunday NFL Countdown to focus on a personal health challenge», - ESPN’s statement read. «For nearly a decade, Randy has been an invaluable member of the team, consistently elevating Countdown with his insights and passion. He has the full support of ESPN, and we look forward to his return when he is ready»
