Since «Connections» is one of the most popular games in the edition, the answer for today, December 27, 2024, was difficult to decipher. Fortunately, we have hints and the final answer to today’s puzzle.

«Connections» editor Vina Liu is well aware of how frustrated players feel when they can’t solve the game. Speaking with Slate in July 2024, Liu described the process of creating each game.

«The process involves me having a notebook where I jot down category ideas. And when I sit down to make the boards, I take one of those ideas, take those words, and start developing them», - Liu said. «And then the boards build off of that, and sometimes it goes in unexpected directions. I feel like it’s one of the most joyful things in creating games. I don’t know what the categories will be. I start with some kernel. And then I just think, 'Oh, what does this word do?' and maybe about a dozen categories of possibilities, and then you see if any of those words interact with each other, and the brain builds off of that».
