This does not surprise fans, as the singer of the hit «Señorita» left Fifth Harmony in 2016, which seemed to cause disagreements between her and the other members. So why did Camila leave Fifth Harmony in 2016? None of the Fifth Harmony members — Normani, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui — have publicly commented on the rumors of a possible reunion. However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, several sources have informed the publication that the group members are in talks about reuniting.
The reason for Camila’s departure from Fifth Harmony in 2016 was her desire for a solo career. During an interview in March 2024 on the «Call Her Daddy» podcast, the singer of «Cry for Me» recalled how she gradually began to «drift away» from Fifth Harmony.
«I remember waking up during the tour, and going to my hotel room around 7 am, and going to my garage group, and writing songs, because I didn’t want to do it when everyone was around, and I had such a passion for writing songs», - Camila explained. «At first, I thought maybe I wanted to write for others. But then it turned into, actually, I want to sing these songs myself… I started to drift away from the group idea, and it seemed like they still passionately believed in it, and so I just thought, 'I don’t like it here anymore, it doesn’t fit'».
However, Camila noted that she «grew a lot in this group» and is grateful for the time spent with them.
Camila revealed in 2022 that she is in «good terms» with the other former group colleagues. She told Reuters at the time that they «support each other through social media messages and so on»
