Sabrina Carpenter is one of the artists dominating this summer! The 25-year-old pop star has just taken the top spot on the global Spotify chart, which she previously held, well, herself. Sabrina’s latest single «Please Please Please» was dethroned after the first track from the album «Short N' Sweet» called «Espresso» once again took the top spot.
Since the release of «Please Please Please» in mid-June, the song has become a real hit, surpassing the success of «Espresso». When the song reached the top of the Spotify chart, it was truly an exciting moment, but Sabrina humorously reacted to the second single being knocked off by the first. She quoted a post from Pop-Crave about changes in the charts and simply wrote: «this b*tch…»
The Spotify charts are not the only ones Sabrina is leading. She has also achieved a huge milestone on the Billboard charts. She has number 1 on the global 200 chart («Please Please Please») and the global charts excluding the US («Espresso») from the trade publication. She is the first artist to do this with two separate songs without any collaborators (such as featured artists).
Success came about a week after Sabrina celebrated her first number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with the song «Please Please Please». After she first reached the top, Sabrina responded to a troll who said she «missed» with the second single, while she was celebrating the achievement. «I am so grateful, so I will surely always remember this day for the rest of my life!» she wrote. «Thank you to everyone who listened and made it so much fun for these songs to be in the world. There will be more soon».
