Samantha Coup opens up after ending her relationship with Joey Lawrence.
On Saturday, August 24, actress Samantha Coup, 37, shared her first post on social media after news broke that she and «Melissa and Joey» actor Joey Lawrence, 48, were splitting up two years after their wedding.
«One amazing friend recently told me: 'Don't be afraid of tears. Let them flow. Because every tear — God gently squeezes out the pain and destruction from your heart to make room for new, beautiful feelings that will come,'» she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post, which featured edited footage of emotional moments.
She also shared a humorous piece of advice given to her by a friend: «The more you cry, the less you pee», - before concluding: «So let them flow. You will get through it. 🩵🙏🏻»
One of the videos showed Samantha and her 1-year-old daughter, Dylan Rose, in the car, while another depicted the mother-daughter duo enjoying a trip to the lake.
«Look at yourself, see how far you’ve come», - the voiceover in the video said. «You faced your trauma, and you came out on the other side. And I’m sorry, I’m a little emotional. But there were times when I was very worried about you, miss girl. But look at yourself today. I am so proud of you. You’re a survivor, baby».
In her divorce statement dated August 13, with the separation date of Coup and Lawrence listed as June 7, Coup requested sole physical custody and joint legal custody of their child.
«Samantha will have 100% physical custody of Dylan, with visitation at Samantha’s discretion», - the statement read. «When Dylan turns 3 years old or older, Joey will have the opportunity to take her for 2 nights at her residence, if he is not working and can provide for her visitation». Joey has not yet publicly responded or commented on the split.
The «Insecure» actress also requested that Joey not take their daughter for «extended, prolonged periods of time until she is old enough to explicitly request visitation time, and all parties agree and are able to provide it».
After Samantha, 37, filed for divorce from Joey Lawrence, citing irreconcilable differences, separate court documents claimed that Joey was cheating on Samantha with his co-star from the movie «Christmas on the Vine», - Melina Alves.
