But after Brian Randall — Sandra Bullock’s romantic partner since 2015 — passed away at the age of 57 after a three-year battle with ALS, the feeling of celebrating any milestone moment in life can be quite complex with feelings of grief. Nevertheless, a source revealed that Bullock «is doing okay» thanks to the support of her friends and family.

«She's doing okay right now. Her kids are amazing. She’s very happy to be a mom», - said a source close to Bullock’s friend Jennifer Aniston, 55, to PEOPLE magazine.

«Her friends have given her the support she needed both during his illness and after. She’s grateful for all this love», - added the source. «Everyone helped her get back on her feet after Brian’s passing».

About two years before the tragic news, the actress announced that she needed to «take a pause» from her career to spend quality time with her family, including her two children, Louis, 14, and Laila, 11.

Bullock’s most recent leading roles were in the 2022 films «Bullet Train» and «The Lost City», - in which she also served as a producer. In a 2022 interview, she said that during the filming of «The Lost City», - she knew it would be her last film for a while.

«I don’t know what 'a while' means», - she told CBS News. «I just want to clean out the basement», - she explained, admitting that she wants to spend time at home.

Since then, she has not appeared on the big screen — although Bullock recently hinted that she plans to return soon. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of her film «Speed» with Keanu Reeves in May, Bullock appeared with her partner on the 50 MPH podcast, where they hinted at another joint film in the future.

«Before I die, before I leave this planet, I think Keanu and I should do something in front of the camera», - Bullock said when the podcast host suggested they perform for a third «Speed» film. «We, you know, in wheelchairs or with walkers? Maybe. Maybe».

Speaking about the success of the 1994 blockbuster, which earned $ 350 million at the box office, she replied: «It was unexpected».

«And the fact that it continues, unexpectedly, to still spark conversations among many different generations, makes you feel really good. Nostalgic in a very bitter way. Because you never know, lightning doesn’t strike twice, and it did, and no one expected it to hit like that, I think»
