The 84-year-old woman has been missing since January 31, 2026, when she was abducted by unknown individuals from her home in Tucson, Arizona. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told The New York Times that the police are not going to give up on finding Nancy.
«It could happen in an hour. It could happen in weeks, months, or years. But we will not stop», - he said to the publication. «We will find Nancy. We will find that person».
According to the Pima County Sheriff, Nancy was taken from her home against her will. Blood was found at the scene, and surveillance footage from that night captured a masked individual disabling the security cameras in the Tucson home.
Nancy has not yet confirmed her ongoing absence from the Today show. However, she has understandably taken time off to search for her mother. Her break from the NBC program is likely to last until the police find Nancy.
Additionally, Page Six reported that NBC is supporting Savannah in her search for Nancy.
«The entire show team and the network are coming together to support our beloved colleague and friend during this unimaginable time», - a source told the publication.
One insider also noted that the Today staff is «constantly praying» for Nancy’s case to be solved, adding, «Everyone at Today is taking this day by day and, of course, providing Savannah with the support, time, and space she needs»
