Sean «Diddy» Combs was arrested in New York because he was charged with three counts as part of a human trafficking investigation. One day after the rapper was detained by federal agents on Monday, September 16, a grand jury was convened to reveal the reasons for Diddy’s arrest.

According to NBC News, Combs was charged with three counts: operating a criminal enterprise, human trafficking, and transporting for prostitution. The grand jury was convened on Tuesday, September 17, and Diddy appeared in court in New York to hear the charges.

Diddy’s lawyer, Mark Agnifilo, spoke to reporters to explain how his client plans to defend himself.

«He came to New York to face the judicial system and start the case, and it will start today, and he will plead not guilty», - Agnifilo said. «He will fight this with all his energy and strength and the full confidence of his lawyers».

According to court documents reviewed by NBC News, Combs allegedly created a «criminal enterprise» whose participants were involved in various crimes, including «human trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice». Diddy was also accused of threats and coercion of «women and those around him to satisfy his sexual desires».

In a New York court, prosecutors reportedly claimed that Diddy’s accomplices included «security guards, household staff, personal assistants, and high-ranking executives», - as well as «other close associates» who «acted as intermediaries for Combs, and their behavior was facilitated and supported by Combs' control over Combs' business». They also claimed that Diddy forced his victims to participate in so-called «freaky parties», - which were sexual acts recorded for his pleasure.

According to court documents, Diddy allegedly used «sensitive, awkward, and compromising recordings made during freaky parties as collateral to ensure the continuation of victims' compliance and silence».

Combs is currently in custody in New York after being arrested by federal agents.

According to reports, federal agents found «various materials for freaky parties, including drugs and over 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant» during searches of his property earlier this year
