Details about the relationship between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette have become known thanks to a new book. According to the new book by author Elizabeth Beller, «Once: The Fascinating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy», - the couple experienced problems in their marriage before they tragically died together in a plane crash in 1999.
During an interview with Fox News published on Tuesday, July 16, Elizabeth noted, «Several sources confirmed that they were in marriage counseling».
«I see it as a positive that they took significant steps to address their issues. And I truly believe that the situation was improving», - she added, before explaining in more detail what was happening between John and Carolyn. «In 1999, there were ups and downs in their marriage. [Their friend] Carole Radziwill said they looked happy and in love. Many other friends said the same. But it was a very tense time for them. John’s best friend and cousin, Anthony Radziwill, was very ill [with cancer]. John and Carolyn were very worried about him. And there was also a lot of external pressure».
Furthermore, the biography author explained that «for Carolyn, who always worked a lot, it was impossible to continue working when the press constantly pursued her».
«She was suddenly overwhelmed by the press», - Elizabeth claimed, expressing her opinion. «I think it was destructive for her and, in my opinion, it led her into depression. At that time, she was thinking about what else she could do».
