Selena Gomez denies rumors of plastic surgery.
A TikTok video from content creator Marissa PA, published in April, discussed past cosmetic procedures of the 32-year-old singer. The video became popular on the internet again after Selena responded to the clip two days ago, telling the world to «leave» her «alone».
The video shows two photos of Selena’s face — one from her youth and another from the present time. Marissa expressed: «I really don’t know what she’s done. I think she’s been through so much in her life, especially related to medicine, so I don’t think it’s fair to speculate if she’s had cosmetic procedures».
The singer of «Calm Down» replied: «Honestly, I hate it. I was on steroids because of my lupus. I have botox. That’s it. Leave me alone». Selena, who is known to have struggled with lupus, experiences many side effects such as kidney problems, weight loss, fatigue, and others, which she has openly talked about.
The content creator appeared shocked in a separate response video to Selena’s comment, emphasizing: «I really hope Selena Gomez doesn’t hate me». She signed off with: «While I always try to conduct myself with dignity and respect, I’m sorry this upset you (and I understand why). I decided to stop making these videos last year because of the negative impact they can have. It was never my intention».
Although Selena was kind enough to reply «I love you», she mentioned that she is not angry at Marissa, but is upset when people talk about her as if it were body-shaming. This is something she has dealt with before. She turned to social media in 2023 to share that it’s not worth worrying about someone’s appearance because we are all «beautiful». She shared: «We all have days when we might feel like crap, but I’d rather be healthy and take care of myself. My medications are important, and I believe they help me»
