Selena Gomez surprised the women’s volleyball team at Telluride High School. The 32-year-old Emmy-nominated actress visited the students during the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado over the weekend. But her appearance was not a random decision; the athletes asked the star of «Wizards of Waverly Place» to sing the anthem at one of their games.
As seen on her Instagram post, Selena shared an orange poster made by the students, which read: «Selena Gomez, please sing the anthem at one of the home games: Friday 6:00 PM, Saturday 1:00 PM». The next slide in her post was a video of the moment she entered the high school gym, where the students couldn’t contain their excitement. When everyone took out their phones to record the Hulu actress, she told them: «I saw the poster [you made]».
Other photos from her Instagram carousel included a group photo with the entire team and several candid images of Selena greeting other fans.

After surprising the students, Selena headed to the Telluride Film Festival 2024 to discuss her latest film «Emilia Perez». During a panel with her film partners Zoe and Carla Sofia Gaskon, the three actresses honored their director Jacques Audiard.

«I was very scared to meet Jacques», - Selena confessed. «I probably rehearsed for three months, and I didn’t think I would get this role because I don’t speak the language fluently. When I started working, I began to understand with Jacques and with the help of everyone else, what my character could be like, which suits me best»
