Celine Dion has always been a force to be reckoned with. Despite living with a rare condition — stiff person syndrome, the 56-year-old queen of power ballads gave a rare insight into how she manages her condition during a recent interview with Vogue France. Reflecting on the early stages of her health, the hit singer of «My Heart Will Go On» admitted that she used to question herself, wondering if she was to blame.

«Now I need to learn to live with this and stop doubting myself», - Celine said in the interview published on Monday, April 22. «At first, I asked myself: 'Why me? How did this happen? What did I do? Is it my fault?' Life doesn’t give answers. You just have to live it!»

Undergoing «athletic, physical, and vocal therapy» five days a week, the Grammy award winner explained: «I chose to work with my whole body and soul, from head to toe, with the medical team. I want to be the best I can be».

She also set a goal for herself for when she improves — «My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again!» Celine added.

The last time the public saw her on stage was last February, when Celine presented the Album of the Year award to Taylor Swift at the 2024 Grammys. As it has been almost five years since her last performance, the Canadian singer and songwriter answered the question of when she will return to touring.

«I can’t answer that», - Celine explained. «Because for four years I told myself that I wouldn’t come back, that I was ready, that I wasn’t ready. At the moment, I can’t tell you: 'Yes, in four months'. I don’t know. My body will tell me».

Despite living with stiff person syndrome — a condition that causes muscle stiffness and spasms, as well as disability, Celine noted that being a famous music icon has made her «never give up on anything».

«I was born to communicate on stage, with my team, with my voice, and with my fans», - said the performer of «Think Twice». «It's about interaction. I was born for this».

As for her current affairs, Celine lives in Las Vegas with her children — René-Charles, Nelson, and Eddie, whom she shares with her late husband René Angélil, who passed away in 2016.

«I had a house in Florida, but since I traveled a lot during tours, we didn’t go there anymore», - Celine pointed out. «I had a house in Montreal, but the kids wanted to go to the beach on vacation. I bought a house in Las Vegas when my oldest son was one year old, 22 years ago, and we moved here. I’m 35 minutes away from work. This gives me time to prepare for work. I see my team, we joke with each other, we rehearse singing. And then it gives me the opportunity to hit the road. I eat in the car, come home, see my children, and can sleep in my own bed. I have the best of both worlds»
