Sam Asghari wishes his ex-wife, Britney Spears, only the «best». During a new interview, the 30-year-old actor reflected on his past marriage to the 42-year-old hit singer, calling her an «amazing person».
«From relationships in general, you learn so much», - he told E! News in an interview published on Wednesday, July 31. «I appreciate all the amazing experiences I’ve had».
Sam added that serious relationships, like his and Britney’s, «make you better as a person».
«I will always celebrate the past and learn from the past, and move forward towards the future», - he said, adding that his past relationships and marriage with Britney will always be «a part of me».
As the «Jackpot!» star focuses on his career, he has not yet returned to the dating pool.
«It will take time, as it does for everyone going through a breakup», - Sam noted, joking that the only one he is currently dating is his dog, who «demands a lot of attention».
As for Britney, Sam added: «I wish her all the best. She is an amazing person and a huge part of my life, and I will always cherish the moments we spent together».
The former couple were together for several years before their divorce. They first met in 2016 on the set of her music video «Slumber Party». Nearly six years later, they got married in June 2022. However, they separated in July 2023, citing «irreconcilable differences» as the reason for the divorce. According to various sources, the former spouses will be officially declared single on December 2, 2024.
After their breakup, Sam told PEOPLE how it was a «blessing» to «share life with someone for a long time».
«And people drift apart and move on», - he told the publication in March. «I always hated when people leave certain relationships — and at one point they said they loved each other and sat at the same table and ate [together] - so I never understood when people break up [and] speak badly of each other. That’s something I will never do, because I had only an amazing experience and a wonderful life, and it will always be a part of my life, a chapter of my life»
