Junior Bridgeman left behind a family. The former Milwaukee Bucks player passed away at the age of 71 in March 2025 after suffering a heart attack at an event in Louisville, Kentucky, as reported by several sources. He is survived by his wife and their children, to whom NBA Commissioner Adam Silver expressed the league’s condolences in a statement.
«I am shocked to learn of the sudden passing of Junior Bridgeman», - Silver said, as reported by ESPN. «Junior was a perfect entrepreneur who continued his significant 12-year NBA career to become a highly respected and successful business leader. He served as a mentor to generations of NBA players and athletes in various sports who sought to learn from him how to thrive in the business world. Junior was a devoted member of the NBA family for 50 years — recently as a minority owner of the Milwaukee Bucks, an investor in NBA Africa, and as a player who set the standard for representing the league and our game with dignity and respect».
Elsewhere in the statement, Silver expressed «sincere condolences to Junior’s wife, Doris, their children, Eden, Justin, and Ryan, the Bucks organization, and his numerous friends and fans in the basketball community».

Bridgeman was married to his wife, Doris Griffith. They kept much of the details of their marriage away from the public eye, so it is unknown how long they were married.
Bridgeman and his wife raised three children: Eden, Justin, and Ryan. As the late philanthropist kept his children’s private lives away from his career, little is known about them.
By 2025, Bridgeman had amassed significant wealth. According to ESPN, Forbes had previously reported that Bridgeman had a net worth of $ 1.4 billion. The sports outlet also reported that Bridgeman never earned more than $ 350,000 per season while playing in the NBA.
Bridgeman used his wealth for charitable efforts. After leaving the NBA in the late 1980s, he built a fast-food empire with over 450 restaurants nationwide. He then became a Coca-Cola distributor, acquired Ebony and Jet magazines, and purchased a 10% stake in the Milwaukee Bucks in late 2024
