The family of Grayson Murray expressed their opinion on his untimely death in a new statement. The parents of the late golfer, Eric and Terry Murray, wrote a touching note that the PGA Tour published on Instagram on behalf of the Murray family shortly after confirming his death.

«We have spent the last 24 hours trying to come to terms with the fact that our son is gone», - they wrote. «It is unreal that we not only have to admit this to ourselves, but also to the world. It’s a nightmare».

Stating that they have «so many questions that have no answers», - Terry and Eric added that there is «one» question to which they know the answer.

«Did Grayson feel loved? The answer is 'yes'», - they continued. «And we, his brother Cameron, his sister Erica, all his extended family, his friends, his competitors, and it seems many of you reading this. He was loved and he will be missed».

The Murrays also acknowledged that «life was not always easy for Grayson, and although he took his own life, we know that he is now resting peacefully».

«Please respect our privacy as we deal with this incredible tragedy, and please honor Grayson’s memory by being kind to one another», - they concluded in their statement. «If this becomes his legacy, we could not ask for anything more».

On Saturday, May 25, Murray passed away at the age of 30 just a day after he withdrew from the second round of the Charles Schwab Cup Challenge tournament at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Despite Murray’s tragic death, the tournament will continue.

The PGA Tour confirmed the news of Murray’s death in a statement on Instagram.

«We were shocked to learn — and with bitterness we share — that PGA Tour player Grayson Murray passed away this morning», - PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan said in the statement. «I am at a loss for words. The PGA Tour is a family, and when you lose a member of your family, you are no longer the same. We mourn for Grayson and pray for comfort for his loved ones».

Earlier this year, Murray won the Sony Open in Hawaii, reaching new heights in his golf career. However, he struggled with depression, anxiety, and alcoholism throughout his life.
