Almost 20 years after being imprisoned and wrongfully convicted of murder, Amanda Knox has agreed to tell her story on the small screen. The new Hulu mini-series «Distorted History of Amanda Knox» explores her experiences, the murder of Meredith Kercher, and the challenges Knox faced from the media and public opinion. Lead actress Grace Van Patten, who plays Knox, understood her responsibility in her performance.
«This is not a show about someone’s worst life experience», - Knox explained to The New York Times in August 2025, before the show premiered. «It's a show about a person’s choice to find closure on their own terms and regain a sense of agency in their life after that agency was stolen from them».
