The series «Cross» from Prime Video is returning for its second season! The original cast will reprise their roles: Aldis Hodge, Isaiah Mustafa, Alona Tal, Ryan Eggold, and others. Joining them in the new season is the renowned actor Matthew Lillard. Known as one of the most prominent «kings of screams» in the horror genre, he will play billionaire Lance Durand, who becomes embroiled in a high-stakes case after receiving a death threat.

Matthew plays the role of Lance Durand, whom the streamer describes as a «business billionaire». Durand turns to the FBI for protection after receiving a death threat that links him to the murder of another billionaire. Detective Alex Cross (Hodge) and FBI agent Kyle Craig (Tal) team up for a joint mission to protect Durand and catch the killer.
In an exclusive interview with Hollywood Life, Matthew shared what drew him to the show and his character.
«Lance Durand was pretty easy to adapt, and I think it starts with the script», - said the actor from «The Descendants». «What attracted me [to the show and the character] was that it was a screen test. It wasn’t an audition. [Although I] constantly go through auditions, this was a screen test… For me, it was important that I was genuinely afraid to return to this».
Matthew noted that when facing something that evokes fear or anxiety, especially as an artist, one should strive towards it. «And I worked very hard on this», - he added.
However, at the time of his screen test, Matthew «had no idea what 'Cross' was», - as he told Hollywood Life. «In the end, the trailer hadn’t even come out by the time we finished the second season», - he noted. «So I entered a world I knew nothing about, barely knew anything about the character».
