Sisters Katie and Charlotte Schultz shared the challenges they faced during their participation in the show «Amazing Race», - particularly a navigation error in the Madrid metro that led to their elimination from the competition. Charlotte noted that it was difficult for them to watch that episode, adding that they were in a panic when leaving the task with the tomatoes.
According to Charlotte, she and Katie were not falling behind other participants but were at the back of the group, which added pressure. The sisters made a serious navigation mistake while trying to get to Puerta del Sol. They did not realize that the train also stopped at Puerta del Sur and realized their mistake too late, ending up nearly an hour behind the other teams.
Katie added that many other participants also got lost in Madrid, which somewhat reassured them, although it did not solve their problems. Charlotte recalled a moment in the show when she asked Katie if Puerta del Sur and Puerta del Sol were the same place, but they did not check the clue due to fatigue.
Despite the confusion, the sisters continued to participate in the race with smiles on their faces. When they finally reached the right place, they saw that another team was still working on the task, but unfortunately, they did not manage to complete it before their competitors left the location. The show «Amazing Race» airs on CBS on Wednesdays at 9:30 PM Eastern Time.
