Three sisters Nicole Brown, Denise, Dominique, and Tanya, broke their silence about O.J. Simpson’s death in a new interview with People magazine, published on Wednesday, May 22. The three sisters talked about their sister’s relationship with O.J., and also shared their different memories of the former NFL player, who assaulted their sister, and learned more about his behavior when he was on trial for the murder of her and her friend Ron Goldman, for which he was acquitted.
The sisters spoke to the magazine ahead of the release of the new Lifetime documentary «The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson», - which will air from June 1 to 2. After O.J.'s death in April, Nicole’s sister Dominique, 59, said they have «very complex» feelings about his death. Tanya, 54, spoke about the explosive relationship between O.J. and their sister. «This is a man who was in our lives for a very long time, who brought chaos into our family. It’s like the end of a chapter», - she said.
Denise, 66, also recalled the moment when their family received the call that Nicole had been killed. She said she immediately believed that the former football star was responsible. «It was just awful. I picked up the phone, and the detective said, 'Your sister has been murdered.' I said, 'Oh my God, he did it, he finally did it.' I knew in my heart [it was O.J.]», - she told the magazine.
O.J. was acquitted in the murder of Nicole and Ron after the trial. Dominique shared that she does not want to speculate on whether her former son-in-law is guilty, «because of the children». She said, «I will not answer».
O.J. passed away after battling prostate cancer on April 10. He was 76 years old. After his death, his family released a statement on social media. «On April 10, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer.
