This episode not only shocked the audience but also left the cast in turmoil. Wilmer even hinted that there would be «significant changes» in season 24.
«Look, every few years NCIS has to make sure you’re still watching. So we shake things up a bit and listen», - Wilmer said in an interview with People in June 2026. «We always pay attention to what our fans want to see on the show».
The actor continued: «If you ask me about my assumptions, I think we’re in for a serious shake-up, and the first episode will bring at least… I don’t want to get in trouble for this.
