Shanna Moakler dispelled myths about herself as a «bad mom» in an interview

Shanna Moakler revealed that her followers often ask her about her children, leading many to consider her a «negligent mother» during an interview with People published on Tuesday, June 25.
«People ask, 'Why do your children live with Travis?' So I’m happy to clarify the situation… I have never not been involved in my children’s lives. I have always had joint custody», - expressed 49-year-old Shanna.
Shanna shares Landon and Alabama Barker with Travis Barker, and in addition, the Blink-182 member is a father figure to her other daughter Atiana De La Hoya — whom she shares with Oscar De La Hoya.
The model felt misunderstood when the show «Meet The Barkers» was on air, as she was often filmed sleeping. «I was up all night, rocking three children under the age of five», - she explained. She added that these moments should not «define or describe who I am as a mother».
She recalled how during the pandemic it was the only time she was away from her children, as they stayed with their father because he had a larger house where they could stay. «During COVID they stayed with him because he has a huge house and it’s nicer… He has a mega mansion. He has a movie theater, he has golf carts. He has all of that… I wasn’t with them as much because of COVID, when we were all in quarantine… So that was the only time I wasn’t as present, but I have always been present in my children’s lives. I never understand that, because there’s a whole social media story about me with my kids, active in my kids' lives».
Despite getting married in 2002 and welcoming their children into the world, they ended their marriage and now co-parent their children. During an interview on «Jeff Lewis Live» on SiriusXM, she shared, «We co-parent, if there are any issues with our kids… we communicate about that, but otherwise we don’t have a friendship».
Travis is now married to Kourtney Kardashian and recently welcomed baby Rocco, who, as Shanna shared, is very loved by her children. Although many think she is bitter, she noted, «I'm happy for him — he’s in a good place. The kids love the new baby Rocco… You know, my daughter is obsessed with him and sends me cute pictures and so on».
