In Maine, a woman and her two young grandchildren were found dead in a submerged vehicle near a boat ramp. According to the Maine State Police, 61-year-old Sharon Bukulmez and her grandchildren, 5-year-old Kinsley Grabb and 3-year-old Sawyer Grabb, went missing after leaving a family gathering in Jonesboro on the evening of Saturday, September 19.

They were expected to arrive in the neighboring town of Machias, but that did not happen. On Sunday, September 20, police reported that the bodies of Bukulmez and the children were found in a vehicle submerged in Pond Cove at Roque Bluffs State Park.

After Bukulmez and the children went missing, police expressed concerns about their whereabouts. During the search, investigators obtained data from Bukulmez’s phone that indicated the device was in the water near the ramp in Roque Bluffs Park. This information led police, divers, and the Maine Marine Patrol to the area. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Coast Guard also participated in the search.

The bodies of Bukulmez and the children were sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for autopsies to determine the cause and circumstances of their deaths. Police noted that the circumstances of the incident remain under investigation, and no additional information is currently being released.

It is worth mentioning that this incident occurred more than 10 years after two female pedestrians were found dead in Pond Cove, with their deaths ruled as accidents.
