The video of Sean «Diddy» Combs beating Cassie Ventura horrified the world, including celebrities. Many publicly expressed their reactions to the disturbing surveillance video showing him dragging and attacking Ventura in 2016. After the horrific video became popular on social media, Diddy posted a video on Instagram to address the issue.
«It's so hard to remember the darkest moments of your life. Sometimes you need to do it», - he began, adding, «I was in a terrible state. I hit rock bottom, but I’m not making excuses. My behavior in that video is inexcusable».
The rapper added that he is «disgusted» with himself — at the time of the incident and now, when he watched the video.
«I take full responsibility for my actions in that video», - he continued. «I was disgusting when I did it, and I’m disgusting now. I sought professional help, went to therapy, to rehab. I had to ask the Lord for mercy and grace. I’m so sorry, but I commit to becoming a better person. Every day».
Ventura’s lawyer responded to Diddy’s public statement in a statement obtained from Hollywood Life.
«Combs' latest statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt», - said attorney Meredith Fairtogg in the statement. «When Cassie and many other women spoke out, he denied everything and assumed his victims were seeking money», - she said. «The fact that he was forced to 'apologize' only after his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be convinced by his lying words».

Obri spoke out on X to criticize Diddy, accusing him of apologizing only for «everyone seeing what he did».
«Diddy didn’t apologize to Cassie», - she wrote on Twitter. «He apologized to the world for everyone seeing what he did. He says he’s 'disgusting now, and he was disgusting then.' but apparently he wasn’t disgusted enough with himself not to put out that statement, calling her a liar and denying everything. Leave God and mercy aside, they’re not here, and you know it [sic]».
After showing Diddy’s confession video to The View audience, host Ana Navarro advised the audience on what they can all do about Diddy.
«The Los Angeles police may not have the ability to charge him, but we can reject him», - she said. «And he should be treated as a leper, a social leper, and a criminal that he is. We saw him commit the assault. And I don’t want to see him in any restaurant. I don’t want to see him at any awards ceremony. I won’t buy any brand he’s associated with».
Whoppi presented Diddy’s Instagram video to The View audience and silently shook her head in reaction. Later she noted, «It's easier to apologize after people find out you’re lying».
