Shawn Mendes announced that he will release his fifth album titled «Shawn» and gave a preview of what to expect with two new tracks.
The 25-year-old singer, who initially rose to fame thanks to the popular Vine app, announced via Instagram that «Shawn» will be released on October 18. After two years of feeling lost, he revealed that this album, consisting of 12 songs, is a «gift».
He wrote: «Honestly, thank God for my friends and family. Life can be cruel, but having a small group of people you deeply trust to guide you through it makes it so much better. I can’t imagine how I would have gotten through the past couple of years, let alone make an album, without you».
In addition to announcing his upcoming album, Shawn brought more joy to his fans as he plans to release the first two songs, «Why, Why, Why» and «Enough of This», - on his birthday, August 8.
He gave a sneak peek of the two tracks on his social media. The second song on the album, «Why, Why, Why», - goes: «I stepped off the stage, left nothing behind/ All the lights were messing with my mind/ But here I am, singing again/ Why, why, why, calm my mind».
Song number five, «Enough of This», - says: «My hand is still shaking/ My mind is still racing/ My heart is still breaking in two/ I’m still changing, my friends remain patient/ My mother still calls with news/ Enough of this?»
