The premiere of the twelfth season of the series «Chicago Med» revealed that the hospital is facing serious problems without Sharon Goodwin, who is no longer serving as the executive director of medical services. The episode also featured a sensational leak regarding who actually disclosed confidential information.

According to showrunner Allen McAdon, Goodwin is in conflict with board member Miranda Lewis, who is reportedly controlling the situation. At the beginning of the premiere, viewers saw new staff members at the hospital, and the atmosphere became more tense, which McAdon believes will not sit well with Goodwin.

During the episode, Goodwin, played by S. Epatha Merkerson, was accused of leaking Dr. Theo Raabari’s medical records to help Dr. Daniel Charles keep his job. Three months after the accusations from Miranda, the situation had not improved. During the premiere, Miranda warned Goodwin that she had 36 hours to accept the hospital’s offer, adding that «time is up» for her career.

Throughout the episode, Goodwin insisted on her innocence, and in the final moments, it was revealed that she was indeed telling the truth. Nurse Doris Perez came to Goodwin with a confession that she was the one who leaked Raabari’s medical data. McAdon noted that this is not the last news related to Doris, and viewers will soon learn more about her explanation.

Actress Jessie Schram, who plays Dr. Hannah Asher, stated that Goodwin will «fight to the death» for those she cares about, making Doris’s confession a difficult moment. Schram added that Goodwin will continue to defend the hospital and its staff, and her actions will be unusual and creative.

The series «Chicago Med» airs on NBC on Wednesdays at 8:00 PM Eastern Time.
