Sylvester Stallone spoke about his struggle with bulimia and the use of steroids in an interview with The New York Times, published on September 26. The actor, known for his role as Rocky, noted that his pursuit of the perfect physique became an obsession that led to the development of bulimia.
According to Stallone, he reached a body fat level of just 2.6 percent while filming «Rocky III», - which made it impossible to keep food down. He admitted to using steroids to maintain his physical condition, explaining that achieving such results without supplements and drugs is impossible. Stallone also mentioned that he realized the negative consequences of his behavior after filming «Cop Land» in 1997, when he had to portray a character with extra weight.
The actor added that now, approaching his 80th birthday, he no longer views his body as a shield and takes numerous medications to maintain his health. Stallone expressed regret for not allowing others to perform stunts for him, noting that it cost him serious injuries and surgeries.
