Sylvester Stallone talks about attack in psychiatric hospital
Sylvester Stallone recalled his time in a psychiatric facility during his teenage years. In an interview with The New York Times published on September 26, the actor spoke about his experience at Devereux Manor High School, mentioning that he was sent to the institution for breaking the rules.

Stallone described the conditions at the facility, noting that it resembled an old Tudor house, but was chaotic inside. He remembered it being dirty, with some patients running around naked and behaving aggressively. According to him, he spent several weeks in the psychiatric ward and faced an attack from another patient, whom he referred to as Jay Bird. Stallone claims that this person tried to harm him and was severely punished by the staff.

After the incident, Stallone noted that he learned an important lesson about his resilience. He recounted that when he returned to the school principal, he stated that he had learned much more than just a lesson about rules. The actor emphasized that this event strengthened his will and self-confidence.

Stallone attended Devereux Manor High School, an institution in Pennsylvania managed by the Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health foundation. A representative of the foundation stated that they respect Stallone’s right to share his story and express regret for any traumatic experiences he may have had, while not commenting on specific allegations.

Stallone’s book «The Steps» will be released on September 29.
