Simone Biles celebrates her husband’s birthday with a sweet message from the Olympic Village.
On Monday, July 22, Biles, 27, led sweet congratulations on Instagram to mark Jonathan Owens' 29th birthday as she continues to prepare for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Unfortunately, the couple, who got married in April 2023, will not be able to celebrate this day together as Biles is already in Paris preparing for her third Olympic Games, where she is considered a favorite to win in the all-around, vault, and floor exercise in women’s gymnastics.
The «Chicago Bears» defender was released from the «Bears» training camp from July 29 to August 3 to support his wife. This will be the first time Owens will be able to watch Biles perform at the Olympics, as spectators were not allowed at the Games in Tokyo in 2021 due to COVID regulations.
«I think it’s so great that he can do this», - said Bears head coach Matt Eberflus on Monday. «We welcome it and it will be amazing. Let’s go, USA».
The women’s team final will take place on July 30, the all-around final on August 1, and the vault final on August 3. The team expects Owens to return on August 4, so he will miss the finals on the bars, balance beam, and floor exercise.
Owens recently told PEOPLE magazine about how he watches her career growth.
«It's very exciting because I have the opportunity to see all the work she puts in beforehand, and you know what? Everything she goes through and how she handles the media and everything else, and still goes out and does it», - the athlete said, talking about his new partnership with GoodSport.
