Mexican influencer Cindy Tames, known for her TikTok videos, allegedly killed her partner and three children before taking her own life in an apparent murder-suicide.
According to local publication Reforma, on September 30 at around 9:40 a.m. in Monterrey, Mexico, Tames and her 2-year-old son Gustavo were found dead in a Jeep. Shortly after, the bodies of her two older sons—Christian, 12, and Bruno, 11—and her partner Leodegario Moya were discovered in a house located about three blocks from where the vehicle was found.
The Nuevo Leon state prosecutor’s office reported that preliminary investigations suggest that Tames, 34, killed her three children and Moya before taking her own life. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to gather and analyze evidence to determine exactly what happened. Among the collected evidence is a firearm found in the Jeep, as well as footage from surveillance cameras.
While authorities have stated that all four victims were found with gunshot wounds, further details about their deaths have not been disclosed. It is also unclear when exactly they died and whether authorities believe Tames had a motive for the killings.
Little is known about the relationship between Tames and Moya, including how long they had been together, whether there was a history of domestic violence, and whether he was the father of her children.
Before her death, Tames had a large following on TikTok, where she shared fashion content and moments from her life in Mexico with 71,000 followers. Her last TikTok post was made on September 29, a day before the tragedy, which contained a troubling message. In a video showing the car’s dashboard, there was text in Spanish: «Not everyone knows my bad side. I am capable of burning my house to see my neighbor’s house burn, even knowing that I will be harmed too».
The Nuevo Leon state prosecutor’s office did not respond to requests from Us for details and updates on the case.
