Jennifer Lopez and Sean «Diddy» Combs may have left their past relationship behind, but the public has not. While the producer awaits trial on charges of sex trafficking, in October 2024, photos surfaced of him and Jennifer seemingly arguing at a party twenty years ago — the same night Combs was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl. After new allegations against Diddy emerged, J. Lo’s fans want to know what they were talking about in the controversial photos.

Diddy has not publicly explained the reason for their breakup. However, during an interview with Rolling Stone in 2001, the «Let's Get Loud» hitmaker noted differences in their personalities, saying that the rapper «loves to party» while she is more of a «homebody».
However, speaking to Vibe magazine in 2003, Jennifer claimed that she «felt» deep down that Diddy (who was then calling himself Puff) was cheating on her, although she «never caught him».
«He would say he was going to the club for a couple of hours and then not come back at night», - J. Lo told the publication. «It was the first time I was with someone who wasn’t faithful. I was in this relationship with Puff where I was totally crying, crazy, and going nuts, it really turned my whole life upside down».
Reflecting on where she wants to see her life, J. Lo realized: «Do I want to be at home with kids in 10 years, wondering where someone is at three in the morning?»
In October 2024, Daily Mail reported that Diddy and Jennifer got into a «heated» argument at a party after the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony in September 2000. According to the published images, the former couple appeared to be in a private conversation. As seen in the photos, Jennifer was leaning against the wall while Diddy briefly discussed with her. It is unclear what this conversation was about.
Neither Diddy nor Jennifer have publicly commented on the photos that have surfaced.
