Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost support each other and joke when it comes to their marriage. In the new movie «Fly Me to the Moon», where the 39-year-old actress starred alongside Channing Tatum, her 42-year-old husband made a cameo appearance due to a «marriage contract».
The couple got married in 2020 and are raising their son Cosmo and daughter Rose Dorothy Black Widow — from Scarlett’s previous marriage to Romain Dauriac.
During an interview on «The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Kimmel», which aired on Monday, July 8, the actress Lucy jokingly said: «Greg Berlanti was our director… a big fan of Colin… Colin — I think he had to do it because it’s in our marriage contract… If I ask him to do something, he has to be there to support me. He has to be in every one of my movies».
Adding to the romantic atmosphere on set, she mentioned how they rehearse scenes together, but he fully immerses himself in the acting. «I rehearse with him… It’s great… you would think it’s very convenient when you have a partner who helps you… he really gets into reading lines. It’s not always the performance I want to see. I just say, 'Say the lines!'… I say, 'I can’t focus. Forget it. I’ll just learn them myself'», she recalled.
The couple has always been very open in their relationship, as they enjoy joking around with each other. Earlier this year, the SNL star talked about his wife in a segment of an episode called «Weekly Update», where he read a joke written by Michael Che: «ChatGPT released a new voice assistant feature inspired by Scarlett Johansson’s artificial intelligence in the movie 'Her'… I never watched it because without a body, what’s the point of listening?».
He even playfully mentioned her in his performance at the White House Correspondents' Dinner: «I want to thank my wife for putting up with a lot of jokes and agreeing to meet everyone in this room right after the ceremony… It’s really special, dear, thank you. Don’t be shy, come right up. She hates privacy!»
