Sean «Diddy» Combs is currently awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking. The record producer and rapper, also known as P. Diddy, Puffy, and Puff Daddy over the years of his music career, was charged in September 2024 after federal authorities began investigating him. So how much time could he spend in prison?

Hollywood Life has gathered all the details about Diddy’s possible prison sentence below.

At the time of publication, it is unclear what punishment Diddy will face; his trial is set for May 5, 2025, according to the Associated Press. Former New York prosecutor and criminal defense attorney Paul Callan told Us Weekly that it is «likely» he will receive a sentence «from 10 to 20 years» if Diddy is found guilty.

«Given the seriousness of the charges, a lengthy prison sentence is virtually inevitable if he is found guilty», - Callan said in a publication in September 2024. «If he is found guilty, he can expect to spend most of his remaining life behind bars. Federal prosecutors usually secure guilty pleas or convictions after trial in more than 90% of cases they bring».

Callan added that prosecutors «presented strong evidence to both federal judges that Combs likely planned to flee and/or threaten witnesses if released».

«Diddy is behind bars at MDC Brooklyn because he has been charged with multiple crimes related to organized crime, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution.

According to the US Attorney’s Office, Combs has been charged with running a «criminal enterprise» to «facilitate his abuse and exploitation of women» from 2008 to the present. Furthermore, Diddy allegedly «committed crimes including sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice».

Diddy has maintained his innocence.

Diddy’s properties in Miami and Los Angeles were raided by the National Security Service in mid-2024. Authorities seized various items in both homes, including «sex play accessories, including drugs, and over 1000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant».
