Rumors of his death began to spread online after a U.S. representative from Florida posted about it on Twitter. Later, TMZ confirmed the news, adding that the Boulder County coroner’s office would be investigating the cause of death.

Here’s what is known about Wilcock’s death.

Wilcock was a key figure in the disclosure movement, which supports conspiracy theories about the alleged government cover-up of information regarding UFOs. A native of Rotterdam, New York, he was also a YouTube blogger, media personality, and writer on paranormal phenomena.

According to TMZ, Wilcock died from an unspecified weapon «against himself». On April 22, 2026, the publication reported that Boulder County authorities stated that law enforcement officers were dispatched to the scene after a 911 call was received shortly before 11:00 AM local time reporting an «unknown problem». The communications specialist who took the call suggested that the caller «may have been in a state of mental crisis».

Upon arrival at the scene, police encountered a man who was armed and outside. A few minutes later, the man «used the weapon against himself» and was pronounced dead.

As previously mentioned, the Boulder County coroner’s office is determining the official cause of Wilcock’s death, according to TMZ.

U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna from Florida was one of the first to publicly confirm his death.

«We just learned of the tragic death of David Wilcock», - Luna wrote on Twitter on April 22. «We are praying for his family and loved ones, as well as for the millions of lives he touched».

According to TMZ, Wilcock took his own life. In the days leading up to his death, the late paranormal researcher continued to actively engage on his social media.

The day before his death, Wilcock posted on Twitter that he was planning to do a live stream on April 19, 2026, in which he criticized Donald Trump for posting a photo of himself in the guise of Jesus Christ.

«Dear family», - Wilcock began. «I slept wonderfully last night and decided to do a LIVE today! Why the hell did the President of the United States post this photo that looks like Christ? Has he lost his mind? Are we going to be okay? Is he the Antichrist?»
