Ed Gale, best known for his performances as Chucky in the horror movies «Child's Play», passed away in May 2025. He was 61 years old. The news of Ed’s death was announced by his niece Casey Gale via Facebook.
«With a heavy heart and an amazingly light coffin (you get it, right?), we announce the sudden passing of our uncle, Ed Gale», - Casey wrote. «Ed Gale made his final curtain call and is now the main act in the afterlife… Throughout his career, he appeared in over 130 films, TV shows, and commercials. With this vast creative legacy, he left behind a legend full of questionable lighting and amazing one-liners. Ed’s favorite role was that of the 'fun uncle'. His love language was sharing his love for the entertainment industry and the magic of Hollywood with his nieces».
Casey concluded her statement by writing: «He enjoyed the slow burn of a good story and cheating at cribbage. He had a devilish laugh, and he will be missed. Rest in love, you grumpy bastard».

According to his niece’s Facebook post, Ed «hitched a ride to California when he was 20, with $ 41 and a dream, and never looked back». From there, he climbed the Hollywood career ladder and eventually landed roles in movies. As Casey noted, Ed appeared in over 130 films, TV shows, and commercials.
Casey also revealed that her late uncle was a DJ. In her announcement, she wrote that Ed «fondly remembered his glory days as a DJ at the Plainwell roller rink».
