The late singer, who passed away at the age of 31 in Argentina, was a member of one of the most popular boy bands, One Direction. Liam died after falling from the third floor of his hotel room in Argentina on October 16, 2024. According to Reuters, the police responded to a call about an «aggressive man who may have been under the influence of drugs and alcohol».
The singer of «Teardrops» was in Argentina with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, to attend a concert of his former group mate Niall Horan during his tour in Buenos Aires. According to the New York Post, just a few days before the concert, Liam shared on Instagram Stories: «We're going to Argentina». He continued: «One, because we want to. Two, because we want to. And three, because Niall Horan is playing down there, and I think we’ll just go and say hi to him».
Liam added: «It's been a long time since Niall and I talked. We have a lot to catch up on, and I would like to sort out some things with the guy. No bad vibes or anything, but we just need to talk».
The autopsy report from the National Prosecutor’s Office of Argentina confirmed that Liam died from «polytrauma and internal and external bleeding». It was also noted that «a number of substances were removed from the musician’s room, indicating a prior situation of alcohol and drug use».
A total of 25 injuries were reported, including a skull injury. ABC News reported that a partial autopsy conducted in Argentina confirmed the presence of several drugs in his system, including cocaine, benzodiazepines, and «pink cocaine», - a mixture of substances such as methamphetamine, MDMA, and ketamine.
