Stevie King, an NBA champion and renowned sports commentator, left behind a family after his death in June 2026. Although the cause of his death was initially not disclosed, the sports world and his loved ones mourned the 59-year-old deceased.
«Stevie King was a beloved member of the Bulls family and one of the truly unique personalities in the history of our organization», - said Bulls owner and chairman Jerry Reinsdorf in his statement regarding Stevie’s passing. «His connection to Chicago, the Bulls, and our fans lasted over three decades—first as a player and then as the one-of-a-kind voice that helped bring Bulls basketball into the homes of generations of fans. We will miss him dearly and remember the joy, energy, humor, candor, and passion he brought to our organization, our broadcasts, and to our fans every day».
Below you can learn about Stevie’s family, including information about his wife.
According to reports, Stevie’s wife is named Debi, but he kept his relationships and family private for most of his career. Several sources indicate that the couple married in 2017.
In August of that year, photographer Kenny Kim also shared a wedding photo of Stevie and Debi on Instagram. The caption read: «I had the honor of capturing the wedding of beloved Chicago icon Mr. Stevie King and his beautiful wife Debi. As many of you know, Stevie is a beloved Chicago icon, a fantastic Bulls commentator, and a three-time world champion with the Chicago Bulls. More moments to come!»
It is unclear whether Stevie and Debi were still married at the time of his death in 2026. His Facebook page indicated that he was single, although this could have simply been an oversight on his part.
Stevie left behind four children: Eric, Garrett, Brandon, and Mason. Although the late father of four tried to keep his family away from public attention, he occasionally shared their photos on social media.
In 2014, Stevie posted a photoshoot with his three sons.
