The death of Ace Frehley shocked the world of rock and roll. The 74-year-old co-founder and lead guitarist of KISS passed away after falling at home in October 2025, confirmed by his family. While musicians and colleagues remember him, Hollywood Life has gathered several dedications to Ace, including from his former bandmates in KISS.
Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, former colleagues of Ace in KISS, released a joint public statement, obtained by Variety, which reads: «We are shocked by the passing of Ace Frehley. He was an integral and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative historical chapters of the band and its history. He will always be part of the Kiss legacy. Our thoughts are with Jeanette, Monique, and everyone who loved him, including our fans around the world».
Paul wrote a separate dedication to his late colleague in a post on X with a black and white photo of Ace.
«I remember 1974, when I was in my room at the Hyatt hotel on Sunset in Los Angeles, and heard someone playing deep and fiery guitar in the next room», - Paul wrote on Twitter. «I thought, 'Damn, I wish THAT guy was in the band!' I looked from my balcony… It was him. It was Ace. This is my favorite photo of us…»
Former KISS member Peter Criss also posted an old photo with the caption: «I'm in shock!!! My friend… I love you! #KissArmy #AceFrehley #Kiss #Spaceman».
Mike McCready from Pearl Jam wrote a touching dedication through X, calling the late co-founder of KISS his «hero».
«I heard about Ace Frehley’s death from Rick Friel, who played with me in the band Shadow», - Mike began. «Rick was also the first guy on the bus in 1977 with a KISS lunchbox to tell me about Ace… it changed my life. I picked up the guitar in 1978 to join Rick Warrior’s band, which turned into Shadow. We played 'C'mon and Love Me'. All my friends spent countless hours talking about KISS and buying KISS stuff. Ace was my hero and also, I would say, a friend. I studied his solos endlessly for years… Just listen to 'Alive', I used his solo from 'She' as a template. Ace played 'Black Diamond' with Pearl Jam at Madison Square Garden… a dream come true for me. I wouldn’t have picked up the guitar without Ace and KISS’s influence. Rest in peace, Ace, you changed my life. Thank you. — Mike»
