Scotty McCreery makes it clear — violence is not allowed at his concerts.

On Saturday, August 24, the country singer stopped his concert at the Colorado State Fair after seeing a man allegedly hit a woman in the crowd, according to a video posted on Facebook.

«Right here, this woman you just hit, sir», - McCreery said. «Absolutely not, you just hit a woman».

Pointing out the man in the audience, the 30-year-old singer, known for his victory in the tenth season of American Idol, called the police and security before asking, «Is she okay? Get out of here».

Shocked by the blatant act of violence at his concert, McCreery remarked, «On God’s green earth. At a Scotty McCreery concert? What are you doing? Tell the cop who hit the woman. This is absolutely unacceptable».

Jessica Rosario, a concertgoer who posted the video, confirmed to PEOPLE: «When he started singing, he noticed a man who allegedly hit a woman, and stopped the show to have security remove him».

Rosario also noted, as McCreery did during the show, that the song he paused — «This Is It» — was dedicated to his wife Gabi Dugal. Earlier in the clip, he encouraged women in the audience to «make some noise» if they liked any lines from the love song, to see how in sync his fans and Dugal were.

«Did we get them? Is everyone okay down there?» he asked security, before concluding, «Whoever you are, it takes a coward to hit a woman. Get out of here». He then checked the mood of the audience before continuing his performance.

Colorado State Fair representatives confirmed that the attack occurred at McCreery’s concert and asked anyone with video footage to share it with their security.

«Colorado State Fair security assisted with crowd control. This incident is still under investigation, and we cannot provide further comments», - said Olga Robak, director of public relations for the Colorado Department of Agriculture, in a statement.
