Believe it or not, Saturday Night Live has been on the air for five decades already. From coming up with some of the most iconic phrases in show business, such as «I need more cowbell» and «Can I get your number?», to introducing hilariously memorable characters like Domingo Marcelo Hernandez, audiences have been laughing along with each new SNL cast since 1975. This year, NBCUniversal is celebrating the 50th season of the show with a program that began with the SNL50: The Homecoming concert on Valentine’s Day! So when will the actual anniversary special episode of SNL take place?
The SNL50: The Homecoming concert aired live from New York (of course!) at Radio City Music Hall. Several famous performers took the stage, all of whom had been musical guests on SNL before.

The SNL50 concert was broadcast live on NBC and Peacock on Friday, February 14. Viewers can watch it again on Peacock.
Nearly all of Hollywood’s elite and the SNL royal family attended the event. Musical performances were even combined with comedic sketches. Justin Timberlake couldn’t join Andy Samberg for their «Dick in a Box» sketch, so Lady Gaga stepped in and added her own twist.
The concert was filled with numerous musical performances from Gaga, Miley Cyrus, The B-52's, Backstreet Boys, Nirvana, Post Malone, Jack White, and others.
After Gaga performed a version of «Dick in a Box» — boldly wearing a gift box around her waist — she returned to the stage to sing «Shallow» from «A Star is Born». Bradley Cooper wasn’t there to perform the duet, so Gaga sang it solo.
Post Malone joined Nirvana members to perform their hit «Smells Like Teen Spirit», and later Jack White rocked the house, performing his song «Seven Nation Army» along with a cover of Neil Young’s «Rockin' in the Free World».
The SNL50: The Anniversary Special will air live on Sunday, February 16 at 8:00 pm Eastern Time.
