Countless X users did not start their Monday morning on a good note. Elon Musk’s social platform, formerly known as Twitter, experienced an outage on March 10, 2025, and many users complained of loading issues. As the hours passed, people and businesses wondered what caused the outage.

Below you will find updates on the X outage and find out if the platform is still working.

At 9:56 am, over 39,000 X users reported an outage on Downdetector. Countless people left comments on the website, which tracks real-time updates on the status of the digital platform, with various complaints. Some wrote that their X accounts were constantly switching between loading errors and recovery. Most outage reports came from users in the US and UK, according to multiple sources.

«Why does my Twitter keep switching between error and okay and error and okay again!!! What’s wrong!!!» — commented one person on Downdetector. «Anyone else having issues with Twitter? It kept saying 'something went wrong, try reloading'» — added another person.

Another commentator wrote: «Quick question, is Twitter down for anyone else? Logged in about an hour ago and was left with a blank home screen. Couldn’t even log out because it showed an error ???»

However, some other users reported that when searching for «x.com» the website loaded, but searching for «twitter.com» resulted in a loading error.

The reason for the apparent X outage is still unclear. The platform has not yet addressed the public about the system issue, and Musk has not made a public statement on the matter.

Shortly before the X outage, several sources reported that Musk’s net worth had decreased by billions of dollars.

Since neither Musk nor his company have made a public statement regarding the outage, there is no clear estimate of when X will return for the thousands of users who reported issues
