Sofia Richie welcomed her first child with husband Elliot Grainge. The 25-year-old model announced the news in an Instagram post on Friday, May 24. «Eloise Samantha Grainge. 5•20•24 best day of my life [sic]», - Sofia captioned her post.
The model did not announce her pregnancy and the expectation of a child until earlier this year. In January, she told Vogue about the moment she found out she was going to be a mother.
«I found out very early», - Sofia told the publication. «I was about four weeks pregnant. I was on a trip to Milan for fashion week, and was getting ready for the Prada show. I made a very quick turnaround in 24 hours, and felt awful, but didn’t think much of it. I thought it was jet lag».
Sofia also recalled that Elliot, 30, «was used to me accidentally taking pregnancy tests» to check for pregnancy. She also noted that they had been «accidentally trying» to conceive a child since they got married in April 2023.
«He wasn’t too surprised when I said I was checking», - she explained. «I took one of those really bad home tests, and there was the faintest line. I was so used to seeing negative results that I knew when something looked even slightly different».
She also remembered how encouraging her husband was throughout the whole journey.
«[Elliot] is such a sweet guy, he always wants to protect my emotions and expectations», - she continued. «So he kind of sat me down and said, 'If these [pregnancy tests] are negative, don’t be upset. Our time will come.' When we flipped all three tests at once, they were all positive».
In March, Sofia showed fans her growing belly by posting a mirror selfie on her Instagram Stories. She wrote a simple caption on the picture: «Morning»
