A representative of Scott «Carrot Top» Thompson reported on the comedian’s condition, who remains hospitalized following an alleged suicide attempt.
«Scott continues to be in the hospital and is receiving thorough medical care», - said Jami Schlicher, a representative of Carrot Top, in a statement to Entertainment Weekly on Sunday, September 20. «He is awake, breathing on his own, and continues to improve, surrounded by family and loved ones».
The statement also mentioned: «Humor has always been an important part of who Scott is and how he connects with people, and that remains true today as he shares moments of humor with the medical staff caring for him. Many messages from fans have been relayed to Scott, including stories from people about how his comedy has helped them during tough times».
Us magazine reached out to Schlicher for additional comments.

Scott, 61, was hospitalized in Las Vegas on Friday, September 18, after news of the alleged suicide attempt emerged. As a result, his comedy shows on Friday and Saturday were canceled. (Carrot Top has been performing at the Luxor casino in Las Vegas since 2005.)
«Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and receiving the necessary care and support», - Schlicher said in a statement shortly after the incident, confirming the hospitalization of the comedy star. «His family and loved ones are deeply grateful for the care and prayers and ask for privacy».
A few days later, Debbie Gibson, a close friend of the comedian, expressed her support, noting that she had tried to reach out to him a few days before his hospitalization.
«Sometimes those who make us laugh the most are the ones who suffer the hardest. Sending you love, Scott 🧡 @carrottoplive», - Gibson, 56, wrote on Instagram on Saturday, September 20, also mentioning the comedian’s real name. «Scott Thompson, also known as Carrot Top, is one of those people who will send you a video message at any time just to say he’s thinking of you and wants to see your smile».
She added: «I hadn’t heard from him longer than usual, so I reached out to him just two days ago. I thought he would respond this week, as he usually does after the weekends, so I didn’t think much of it when I didn’t get an immediate reply».
Other fans and friends also quickly expressed their support for the comedian in his medical situation, including former «Everybody Loves Raymond» star Brad Garrett.
«Oh, my beautiful, talented friend @carrottoplive. We are all grateful that you are okay», - Garrett, 66, wrote on Instagram on Saturday, posting a photo with Carrot Top and Ray Romano. «Please use this time to remember how much you are valued and loved by many».
He continued: «We are here for you. We need you to be okay. You need to be okay. Whatever it takes, we are here for you. You have a second chance for some reason. Use it wisely. We need people like you. Show yourself compassion. We love you».
