The wild moment at the «Phillies» vs. «Marlins» game quickly went viral after a ball in the stands turned into an unexpected conflict between fans. Cameras caught a woman, now dubbed «Phillies Karen», - taking a valuable souvenir from a child with the help of the child’s father, who handed it to her. The video quickly spread on social media, sparking debates about etiquette at a baseball stadium, fairness, and sportsmanship, while spectators urged the internet to «do its thing» and identify the woman.

Now many are wondering: who exactly was the father who gave up the ball, and why did he give it back to her?

During the fourth inning of the «Phillies" — «Marlins» game, outfielder Harrison Bader hit a home run. The father retrieved the ball and gave it to his son, who was celebrating his birthday.

Moments later, «Phillies Karen» approached, claiming the ball belonged to her and insisting on its return. Under pressure and hoping to defuse the situation, the father took the ball from his son’s glove and handed it to her. The moment was captured on video and quickly spread online, causing widespread outrage. In response, the «Marlins» organization and Bader himself intervened: a Marlins employee gave the boy a gift bag, and Bader later presented the boy with a signed bat to rectify the situation.

The woman earned the nickname «Phillies Karen» after aggressively demanding the ball that was hit for a home run. Her confrontational behavior in front of the child quickly became a flashpoint on social media, making her a poster child for unruly fans.

Social media mistakenly identified the woman as Cheryl Richardson Wagner. One was rumored to be a teacher, and the other a nurse in New Jersey — although both denied their involvement.

«Okay, everyone… I am NOT the crazy Phillies mom (but I would love to be as skinny as her and as fast)», - Wagner wrote in a public statement.

The correct identity of the woman who took the ball from the boy remains unconfirmed.

The man involved was Drew Feltwell, who was at the game with his family, including his young son Lincoln.

Speaking to NBC Philadelphia after the incident, Feltwell recalled the tense moment, saying: «I don’t even remember what she said, it was, you know, a lot of eyes on us by that time, and the ball was already in his glove, and she just wouldn’t stop, and I was literally backing up as she stood in front of me yelling and yelling, and I just wanted her to go away because I had a choice: either do something I would probably regret, or be a father and show him how to defuse the situation, so I went that route»
