Drama continues to swirl around the stars of the movie «It Ends With Us» Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively, as their alleged disagreement, according to reports, is related to creative control.
It is said that the 36-year-old actress took on a large part of the 40-year-old actor’s role, despite him being credited as the director, and Lively acted as a producer of the film. The alleged tension became noticeable when neither Blake nor the actor from «Jane the Virgin» appeared together in photos, and he was absent from some of the film’s press events.
An insider told Us Weekly on Thursday, August 15: «There were two camps on set — Team Blake and Team Justin. This creative struggle set the tone for a negative experience behind the scenes and ultimately led to them ceasing communication».
The source added: «[Justin] felt that his vision was not being appreciated as much as Blake’s vision, which stifled creativity on set».
Blake Lively even mentioned during a recent interview that her husband, Ryan Reynolds, helped write a scene for the film, further diminishing Justin’s creative contribution. She told E! News: «We help each other. He works on everything I do. I work on everything he does. So his wins, his celebrations — mine, and mine — his».
Although Blake was a producer, a role that usually involves overseeing the production process rather than the creative aspects of the project, another source mentioned that she worked «closely with Collin [the book author] and other female members of the team on set».
The alleged disagreement deepened when it was noticed that cast members were not following Justin on social media, although he followed all of them. A source told Page Six: «None of the actors liked working with Justin… they definitely did not talk to him at the premiere». TMZ also reported that Blake felt the actor humiliated her after she recently gave birth to their fourth child, when Baldoni expressed concern about his back while lifting her in a scene.
